How to grow aloe vera to make its leaves thick (how to fertilize potted aloe vera to make it grow well)

Aloe vera is a succulent plant that is often grown as a green plant in the home. How can you maintain aloe vera and make its leaves fat? To grow aloe vera well, you need to do three things well: light, watering and fertilization.

1. Aloe vera needs sufficient light to grow

Compared with watering and fertilizing, light is the most important aspect. Only when there is sufficient light can the aloe leaves effectively carry out photosynthesis and accumulate nutrients.

Therefore, the environment for aloe vera maintenance is very important. For outdoor maintenance, aloe vera can be placed directly in the sun, but be careful not to expose it to direct sunlight in summer. For indoor maintenance, try to place it on a balcony or under a window with good light.

2. How to water aloe vera for good growth

For succulent plants, there is a lot of water in the plant. The demand for water is also relatively large. Aloe vera cannot lack water during the growth period, but it cannot be watered too much to cause waterlogging and root rot.

Watering is usually enough to keep the soil moist. You can water when the soil is dry and when it is wet. In rainy seasons, pay attention to timely drainage when maintaining greening outdoors.

3. Aloe vera grows vigorously with reasonable soil

The root system of aloe vera is relatively developed, but it likes loose and breathable soil because it stores a lot of water in its leaves. Do not water it too much. If the soil is too silted, the roots will rot.

If you don’t buy nutrient soil, you can directly use garden soil and half river sand to mix it. If you have nutrient soil, you can add some granular soil to the nutrient soil and then mix it.

Because the farmland soil has good water retention, you only need to water the aloe vera thoroughly when it is dry. Its plant shape will not be crooked, because the aloe vera plant needs to be fat and big. If the soil is too soft, it will easily fall over.

4. How to fertilize aloe vera to make it grow thicker

Aloe vera does not require much fertilizer, but it cannot lack fertilizer. Aloe vera that lacks fertilizer will naturally not grow well.

The concentration and frequency of fertilization of aloe vera should not be too much. Generally, fertilization 1-2 times a month is sufficient. Fertilizer can be rotted cake fertilizer water or other fertilizer water, or compound fertilizer. When using chemical fertilizers, pay attention to the concentration to avoid fertilizer damage.

To nourish the leaves of aloe vera, it is nothing more than light, watering and fertilizing. Ensure sufficient light, coupled with reasonable watering and fertilization, aloe vera will grow well naturally, but everything has a process, especially flower cultivation, so don't be too impatient.

5. Lighting issues

Aloe vera likes light, but does not like exposure to the sun. In spring, you can get more sun exposure, and the leaves will be thick and round.

If there is less light, its stem nodes will easily stretch, and it will grow leggy and crooked, which is not good-looking. In this case, you can add some soil to the flowerpot to fix it.

If it is too high and falls over, you can trim it from the right place and take the upper part for cuttings. Many small side buds will emerge from the bottom, and one will become two. Pay attention to the maintenance, lighting and watering. It will grow very neatly.
