Why are the roses I grow so small (the roses on my balcony are getting smaller and smaller)

Why don't the roses on the balcony bloom ? This is not a problem that only you have, many flower lovers have had this experience.

I have also raised a few roses on the balcony before, and the result is the same. Why does this happen? I think you will know if you understand the habits of roses.

Basic conditions cause roses to bloom small

①Sunlight

Rose is a sun-loving plant. From this point of view, we need to provide roses with sufficient sunlight. If there is insufficient sunlight, not only will its flowers be small, but they may not even bloom.

Light is actually an important condition for rose maintenance. If there is insufficient light, this situation will easily occur.

Because you are keeping it on the balcony, it is blocked by other objects and the sunlight time is limited during the day, so the flowers will be small.

Therefore, if conditions permit, we'd better keep the rose in a full-sun environment to make it bloom .

② Water and fertilizer

Water and fertilizer will also affect the flowering of roses. If there is not enough water and fertilizer, the flowering of roses will not be standard, especially the fertility affects the size and number of flowers .

This is why I always emphasize the need to configure the right potting soil for roses. If the soil is not fertile enough, roses will have various problems. So we can add some humus soil or slow-release fertilizer to the potting soil to facilitate flowering.

In addition to the initial impact, ventilation, pests and diseases will also indirectly affect the flowering effect.

Rose variety issues

I don't know what kind of roses you grow on your balcony? If you grow super micro roses, hidden roses, lightning roses and other small-flowered micro roses.

Not to mention on the balcony, even in full sunlight in the field they cannot bloom big flowers because they are small flower varieties.

If you grow some large-flowered balcony series roses, the effect will definitely be different. The classic balcony roses include Canary, Juice Balcony, etc.

These roses are very suitable for balcony cultivation. They have large and numerous flowers and, most importantly, they bloom frequently. Even if light conditions are not met, they can still perform well.

If you are growing a large-flowered variety, but the flowers are very small, it is mostly caused by basic conditions such as light, water and fertilizer. It is recommended that you change the potting soil.

Then, place the rose in a sunny place, preferably in full sunlight, and strengthen water and fertilizer management. After the flowers bloom, they should be pruned in time, so that the next batch of flowers can bloom more standardly.
