How to grow lotus seedlings? Are they afraid of direct sunlight?

1. Reasonable exposure to light

Lotus is a long-day flower plant, so it must be exposed to sufficient light. It should be kept in a well-lit place with at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. Insufficient sunlight will cause the leaves to dry out and affect the opening of the flowers. Although sufficient light is required, the seedlings are still relatively fragile and are afraid of prolonged direct sunlight, especially in summer. They should avoid prolonged exposure to the scorching sun and be properly shaded. After the growth stabilizes in the later stage, they will no longer be afraid of direct sunlight.

2. Water Cleanliness

When growing lotus, the water inside does not need to be changed every day, but the water must be kept clean and not too turbid, otherwise it will not be able to survive in such water, which will affect its growth. In terms of water, adjustments should be made, the water flow should be kept calm, and there should be no water shortage. The water level should be below the standing leaves and not submerge them.

3. Appropriate fertilization

Lotus likes fertilizer very much. Before planting, fill base fertilizer into the substrate to slowly release the fertilizer effect. During breeding, attention should be paid to proper fertilization and burying it in the substrate. However, you must pay attention to the concentration and never use concentrated or raw fertilizers to avoid burning the roots.
