How to grow Anthurium to make it bloom?

Anthurium is also known as Spathiphyllum and Smooth Sailing. Its flowers are pure white and the leaves are evergreen all the year round. So how do you grow Anthurium to make it bloom? Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Lighting

Anthurium is a plant that likes partial shade. If you place the plant directly in a semi-shaded and cool place, the plant will not see the light for a long time, which will make it difficult for the anthurium to bloom. If you place the plant in a place with strong light, it will easily burn the leaves. Therefore, it is best to place the plant in a place with sufficient scattered light so that the plant can bloom easily.

2. Soil

When growing anthuriums, you must provide it with good soil. The soil should be breathable and the roots should grow better. Try to make the soil consist of about half granular soil, so that it will be very breathable and water-permeable.

3. Fertilization

Any plant cannot grow without fertilizer , especially flowers. You should choose fertilizer with high phosphorus content. If you want it to bloom more, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is a very good choice. Use potassium dihydrogen phosphate in April and May, 2 to 3 times a month, with a concentration of about 1:1000. Watering in this way can ensure sufficient phosphorus, and the flowers will grow directly, and continue to bloom after one crop.

4. Humidity

Anthurium likes a humid environment, so it needs to be sprayed with more water mist during daily maintenance so that it can grow vigorously. If the air is too dry in summer, it will be difficult for the anthurium to bloom and the bracts will take a long time to open. However, you should be more careful when spraying water. Do not spray water on the flower core, otherwise it will easily cause the flower buds to rot and affect the flowering.

5. Repotting

The root system of white calla lilies grows very fast. In less than two years, the roots will fill the flowerpot. At this time, it is necessary to repot and trim the roots. Use a larger flowerpot and trim the roots before repotting. Then add some fertile nutrient soil, otherwise the plant's flowering ability will become weaker and weaker.
