Why do some people say that raw fertilizers cannot be used for growing flowers (harms of growing flowers with unfermented and decomposed organic fertilizers)

What is raw fertilizer

Usually, what we call raw fertilizer refers to organic fertilizer that has not been fully fermented and decomposed.

For example, various livestock manure, bean cakes, rice washing water, fruit peels, vegetable leaves, chicken intestines, fish intestines, bones, etc. commonly used in rural areas, all these unfermented and decomposed materials can become raw fertilizers.

These unfermented substances need to be fully fermented and decomposed before they can be used to grow flowers.

Fermented organic fertilizer, also known as "mature fertilizer", can be used to grow various flowers that prefer slightly acidic environments. It not only provides nutrients for the plants, but also loosens the soil in the pots if used frequently.

Why can't we use raw fertilizer to grow flowers?

Raw fertilizer is organic fertilizer that has not been fully fermented and decomposed. This kind of fertilizer cannot be used directly to grow flowers. Not only can raw fertilizer fail to provide nutrients for the plants, but it can easily cause damage to the plants.

1. Easy to burn the root system

In the process of growing flowers, if you use raw fertilizer directly to grow flowers, it will cause great harm to the flowers. This is because after applying raw fertilizer in the flowerpot, it cannot be absorbed by the plants. It needs to be fermented and decomposed by microorganisms before it can be converted into nutrients and absorbed.

After applying raw fertilizer to flowers, when encountering suitable temperature and humidity, these organic matter will ferment and generate a lot of heat, which can easily burn the roots of the plants and cause a large number of yellow leaves and fallen leaves.

2. Prone to diseases and pests

If you use raw fertilizer directly to grow flowers, firstly, the heat generated by fermentation in the potting soil can easily cause root burn and yellow leaves, and secondly, it can easily breed diseases and pests.

Because these unfermented organic matter contain a large number of bacteria and insect eggs, if they are directly applied to the flower pot, the plants will be easily infected with various diseases and pests in the later stage. Therefore, you must not use raw fertilizers when growing flowers to avoid harming the flowers.
