How to fertilize roses correctly (master the fertilization methods of roses in daily life)

Roses need sufficient nutrients to bloom luxuriantly. Therefore, how should roses be fertilized during daily maintenance? Which commonly used fertilizers are suitable? How should they be fertilized?

This is something that rose lovers need to know. In fact, this is also a common problem in growing roses. Let's talk about how to fertilize roses.

How to fertilize newly potted roses

For newly potted roses, in addition to putting base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot, you should also apply a compound fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium 2 to 3 times a month.

For example, Huaduoduo No. 2, Meileke flower fertilizer liquid and Haokangduo fertilizer, it is better to apply thin fertilizers frequently.

Roses are adapted to growing in neutral or alkaline soils, so acidic fertilizers are not suitable for roses. For example, acidic fertilizers such as alum fertilizer water cannot be used for watering.

How to fertilize roses in daily care

Roses like fertilizer. Generally, before the buds appear, apply liquid fertilizer every 5 to 7 days. Do not apply fertilizer during flowering.

In early spring, when the rose sprouts and begins to release leaves and the new shoots are still red, it is the period when the rose is growing new roots vigorously. Remember not to apply fertilizer at this time, otherwise it will easily burn the roots .

Potted roses must be repotted and the soil changed every year. If the pot cannot be changed next year for some reason, you should apply a layer of well-rotted organic fertilizer to them in December at the end of the year when the roses enter a dormant period to overwinter and increase the fertility of the potting soil.

In short, it is better to apply thin fertilizer frequently when raising roses, especially since roses bloom for a long time, from May to November every year. And the large amount of flowers requires more nutrients .

Therefore, in addition to applying sufficient base fertilizer when repotting once a year, nitrogen and phosphorus-based fertilizers should be applied 2 to 3 times a month to meet its nutrient supply needs.
