How to make Clivia bloom quickly (tips for promoting Clivia flowering)

When autumn comes, flower lovers want the Clivia to grow flower stems quickly so that they can see the beautiful appearance of the Clivia blooming in winter.

However, we cannot just do one thing to make Clivia bloom quickly. Blindly adopting some measures to promote flowering will not only fail to achieve the desired effect, but may even backfire. Today I will share with you some tips to make Clivia bloom quickly.

①Resume growth in autumn to promote flower arrows

The root system of Clivia is relatively weak in summer because it has gone dormant, and some even have dry and rotten roots.

Therefore, what we need to do in autumn is to let it recover quickly and let the root system grow well to ensure its flowering. Therefore, after entering autumn, we should resume watering, keep the soil moist, and let it grow roots slowly.

In the next month, you should use multi-element fertilizer with a balanced content of phosphorus and potassium to allow it to grow leaves and roots. After the root system is well grown, you can promote flowering .

In addition, it is recommended that you use a mild nutrient solution two to three times a month. This month is the stage for it to grow roots and leaves.

Generally speaking, it will take a month for it to quickly grow flower stems and bloom, but this requires that the Clivia we grow has more than 12 leaves.

Because it must be raised from a seedling for four years, and the leaves must reach 12 leaves or more before it can reach the age of flowering . This is a prerequisite, as long as you ensure that it is done well, it will be relatively simple to force flowering.

②Increase lighting

Clivia is a light-loving plant , so don't put it in a weak-light environment indoors. If you want to see the flowers, its flower buds must be exposed to sufficient light for normal differentiation.

It is autumn now, and the light at noon is still relatively strong, so the Clivia can be exposed to light at other times.

Only when there is sufficient light can its leaves carry out photosynthesis well and the root system can grow rapidly. Only when the root system grows well can it absorb nutrients to grow leaves and bloom .

③ Use phosphate fertilizer

If the root system of the Clivia you raised in the early stage is relatively good and there are no problems with the leaves, which are all in a glossy green state, then we can proceed with the flowering promotion process.

Because it takes about two months to force the flowers to bloom , it is more reliable to start now. But remember, you need to use the right fertilizer to force the flowers to bloom, you can use potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is mixed with water at a concentration of 1:1000, and watered once every ten days or so , so that it can get phosphorus in the soil. Its flower buds will differentiate quickly at the bottom and grow slowly, and then grow flower swords to bloom directly.

④Increase temperature difference

After entering autumn, you will find that the temperature is very high during the day and very low at night. In this way, the temperature difference between morning and evening is relatively large. For Clivia, the large temperature difference between morning and evening is the best time for flower bud differentiation .

We should not put it in a constant temperature place indoors. It is better to put it in the outdoor yard so that it can feel the temperature difference between morning and night and can quickly differentiate flower buds.

We can also place it next to the window. The window is open in the morning and evening . The temperature difference is relatively large if it is always open, which can also help differentiate flower buds .
