Forsythia suspensa planting methods and conditions (high-yield planting technology and cultivation management methods)

Where is Forsythia suitable for planting?

Forsythia likes light, warm and humid climate, and is suitable for planting in places with a lot of sunlight. It is drought-resistant and barren-resistant, and has low requirements for soil. Neutral soil can be selected to plant Forsythia. In order to make Forsythia grow better, it is best to choose fertile soil.

At present, Forsythia suspensa is planted in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Shandong, western Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and other places in my country. Some are used for greening and some are for medicinal purposes.

Generally, the yield of forsythia is about 200 kilograms per mu , which increases year by year. After entering the high-yield period, it can produce 1,200 kilograms per mu . If it is in a high-yield area, the yield of a forsythia is about 15 to 20 kilograms.

Forsythia suspensa planting technology and cultivation management

During the growth period, Forsythia needs to be given sufficient water and certain nutrients. Generally, it is fertilized once before germination in spring. Let's take a closer look at how to grow Forsythia for a higher yield.

Soil selection and land preparation

Forsythia is not demanding on soil. It is better to plant it in sunny or gently sloping areas. When choosing a site, you can choose slightly acidic or saline-alkali land. For seedling cultivation, it is best to choose fertile, loose, well-drained sandy soil, which is conducive to the growth of Forsythia.

sowing

Forsythia can be planted by sowing, either in spring or winter, with spring sowing usually in April and winter sowing in November. Suitable temperatures are conducive to the germination of Forsythia seeds, so each region should sow Forsythia according to actual conditions.

Before sowing, the seeds should be germinated. Soak the seeds in warm water for 1-2 days, and then they can be sown. The soil should not be too deep when sowing. Keep the temperature and soil moist after sowing. Forsythia seeds will germinate in about 7 days . When the seedlings grow to 3-5 cm, they can be thinned or fixed. Transplant to the field after 1-2 years.

Transplanting

Before transplanting, you should first apply enough base fertilizer in the planting hole, preferably soil fertilizer and compound fertilizer, and then plant the forsythia seedlings. When planting, make sure that the roots of the forsythia are stretched, and then slowly backfill the soil. The covering soil should be higher than the hole surface to prevent the hole soil from sinking. Generally, the row and plant spacing should be 2x2 meters .

manage

During the growing season, you should pay attention to watering. In order to prevent the soil from becoming hardened, you should often loosen the soil and weed. If it survives after planting, you need to weed once a year. Forsythia likes a humid environment, but avoids waterlogging. When watering, you should water it thoroughly, and pay attention to drainage during the rainy season.

In addition to loosening the soil and weeding, we also need to fertilize the Forsythia suspensa, 2 kg of fertilizer per young tree and 10 kg of fertilizer per fruiting tree, fertilizing once before flowering and once after pruning. In addition, the Forsythia suspensa seedlings need to be pruned during the growth period, and the tops should be pinched in summer to promote new branches.
