How to grow mint more vigorously?

Mint is an extremely tough plant with very strong vitality. It can thrive in almost any environment with soil and sunlight. Friends who are interested in herbs can try growing a pot of mint at home. Let’s learn how to grow mint more vigorously.

1. Planting method

Sowing: Mint seeds are small and suitable for sowing in small flower pots. Use disposable cups or paper cups filled with fine river sand or nutrient soil as sowing media. Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the soil, spray with a watering can, and keep them moist until they germinate.

Cuttings: Cuttings are a simple method to propagate mint, which can be done in hydroponics or soil. Select mature branches, insert them directly into the soil or water, and place them in a sunny place. They will soon take root and grow new leaves.

2. Watering

Pay attention to the frequency of watering indoor mint to avoid long-term moisture in the soil that causes root hypoxia. Use plastic pots instead of ceramic pots to improve air permeability and drainage. Outdoor mint can be watered more often because good light and ventilation help water evaporate.

3. Lighting

Mint needs full sun, either diffuse light or full sun. Avoid being in an environment with insufficient light for a long time to prevent the branches and leaves from becoming sparse.

4. Fertilization

Mint grows quickly, especially in spring and early summer, and requires moderate fertilization. Avoid applying concentrated or raw fertilizers to prevent root burn. Use the method of applying thin fertilizers frequently, apply fertilizers in small amounts and multiple times, and water in time to dilute the fertilizer .

In short, mint prefers a sunny environment, but can also adapt to semi-shady conditions. It does not have high requirements for soil, and well-drained soil is more conducive to the development of its root system.
