Purple mirror succulent is a perennial succulent plant of the genus hyacinthaceae. It likes a cool, humid, sunny environment, but is afraid of heat and humidity. 1. Soil

Purple mirror succulent requires loose and fertile soil with good drainage and air permeability. It can be made by mixing leaf mold, peat soil, vermiculite and sandy soil.

2. Lighting

The purple mirror succulent must have sufficient light during the growing period, because the leaves and flower buds of the plant that wakes up from dormancy grow together, and the leaves grow faster than the flower buds.

3. Watering

Purple mirror succulent needs to be watered in small amounts during the growing period. If it is dry and water-deficient for a long time, the plant will stop growing and the leaves will turn yellow.

4. Fertilization

Generally, the peak growth period is from October of each year to April of the following year. You can apply decomposed compound fertilizer once a month to provide sufficient nutrients to enable the plants to grow vigorously.

1. Summer maintenance

In mid-to-late May, as the temperature rises, the leaves on the ground gradually wither and the plant enters a dormant state. The dried leaves can be removed and the bulbs can be left in the original pots to spend the summer. The flower pots should be placed in a dry, ventilated place without stagnant water. The purple mirror plant does not need to be left without water all summer, it can be kept slightly moist.

2. Winter maintenance

In winter, the temperature should be maintained between 0°C and 15°C. In this environment, the plant can continue to grow and normal fertilizer and water management can be carried out. It can safely overwinter indoors if the temperature is not lower than 0°C.

Purple mirror succulents will bloom after 1-2 years of cultivation . The peak flowering period of purple mirror is around November-December. Almond-shaped buds gradually grow from the middle of the opposite large leaves. After the buds are full, clusters of inflorescences emerge. They bloom when there is sufficient sunlight. The small flowers are pale white with a slight purple tint. It is considered a breath of fresh air in the world of succulent flowering.
