Tutorial on growing water plants in fish tanks - How to grow water plants in fish tanks

Many people like to raise fish at home, and then plant some water plants to create a beautiful landscape. Usually, water plants can be planted in a tank, potted or rooted. The following will introduce how to use water plant seeds to plant beautiful fish tank water plants.

Steps to plant water plants in fish tank

Step 1: Prepare the fish tank

First, a layer of fine sand about 30-40 mm thick should be laid on the bottom of the fish tank. It should be noted that the size of the fine sand must be moderate, otherwise it will cause difficulty in cleaning later.

You can put some small stones on the fine sand as decoration, so that the water plants will look more beautiful after they grow out.

Step 2: Sowing seeds

Take out the waterweed seeds and spread them on the surface of the fine sand , trying to spread them evenly. After spreading, use a spray bottle to spray water on the soil, and the soil must be completely wet. Make sure there is a layer of water on the soil, and the water surface just covers the seeds .

Step 3: Cover with plastic wrap

Cover the fish tank with a layer of plastic wrap to keep it warm. During the cultivation of aquatic plants, the temperature should be kept between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius . Poke a few small holes on the plastic wrap to allow for better ventilation.

How to maintain water plants in a water plant tank

1. Temperature conditions

After planting the water plants, place the fish tank in an environment of about 25 degrees Celsius , which is conducive to better germination of the water plants. Water plants have poor cold resistance, so they should be well insulated in winter to avoid rotting or yellowing of leaves.

2. Lighting conditions

Aquatic plants are light-loving plants. During their growth, sufficient light must be supplied. If the light supply is insufficient, it will limit the growth of aquatic plants. Especially at night when there is no natural light, make sure the supplementary light is on.

You can put a fill light on the top of the fish tank to provide the water plants with about 7 hours of light every day, which is conducive to its germination. In addition, it should be noted that if the light is too strong, it will also affect the growth of water plants. Scattered light is best.

3. Spray water appropriately

Water plants like moisture, so you should spray water into the container every day. You should spray some water mist around the fish tank to increase the humidity of the air. Generally, after four or five days, the water plants will sprout .
