Why doesn't the Clivia bloom?

Why doesn't the Clivia bloom?

1. Soil compaction

Clivia is suitable for growing in a relatively loose environment. If the soil is too compacted and has poor drainage, its roots will grow poorly or even rot, which will affect flowering. The soil should be changed regularly, preferably once every spring, and the soil should be turned over appropriately during normal maintenance.

2. Lack of fertilizer

It does not like fertilizer very much, but if there is no nutrients in the cultivation soil for a long time, it will hinder the growth of the plant and it will not bloom. Some base fertilizer should be added during planting, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied appropriately before flowering. Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, as it will not be easy to bloom.

3. Unsuitable temperature

The temperature should be suitable when growing Clivia. It will stop growing when the temperature is below 10℃ or above 30℃. Poor growth will hinder its normal bud formation and it will not bloom. Pay attention to adjusting the temperature in time, it is best to control the temperature at around 15-25℃. Also, it needs to be exposed to sunlight appropriately and should not always be kept in a dark place without light.

4. Improper watering

You should master the correct method when watering it. Otherwise, if you water it too much or do not water it for a long time, its roots will not grow healthily and the plant will grow poorly and not bloom. Watering should be done according to the specific situation. When the climate is relatively dry, you can water more appropriately, but not too much, just make sure there is no accumulation of water.
