Cultivation method of purple pineapple

1. Pot soil

The flowerpot for growing purple pineapple should be larger, and the soil should be fertile, loose, breathable, well-drained, and acidic in pH. You can use peat soil, and then add some perlite, leaf mold, and vermiculite to it.

2. Temperature

The temperature between 20-30 degrees is most conducive to the growth of purple pineapple flowers, and the maximum growth temperature should not be higher than 35 degrees, and the minimum should not be lower than 14 degrees.

3. Lighting

Purple bromeliad flowers are suitable for growing in a semi-shady environment and have low requirements for light. When the light is too strong in summer, they need to be shaded and not exposed to the sun.

4. Moisture

Summer and autumn are the peak growth seasons for purple pineapple. It needs to be watered every 2-3 days, but be careful not to get water on the dead leaves in the middle of the plant. In winter, control the water appropriately and water it once a week.

5. Prune after flowering

How to prune when the flower heads wither? This is a question that many flower lovers are concerned about. When the purple pineapple has bloomed, the first step is to prune the remaining flowers. Pay attention to the pruning position, which should be about 1-2 cm away from the base. If too many flower buds grow on the same root system, the flower buds grown at the base of the leaflets of the side branches should be appropriately pruned, which effectively avoids excessive nutrients.

What are the precautions for purple pineapple maintenance?

When caring for the purple pineapple, you need to apply compound fertilizer to the purple pineapple once every half a month or so. The concentration of the compound fertilizer should be lighter to prevent the roots of the purple pineapple from being burned.
