The sycamore is native to the central part of the Yangtze River Basin in my country and is widely cultivated from North China to South China. It can still be found wild on the southern slope of the Qinling Mountains and the mountainous areas in the northeast and southeast of Chongqing. It mostly grows in scattered mixed woods below 2,000 meters above sea level as a companion tree. It is also distributed in Japan.
