Peanut germination method: quick and good germination techniques and process

Peanut seeds have requirements for moisture, temperature and air when germinating, and germination is carried out in a constant temperature environment, so the seeds after germination will germinate faster and have a higher survival rate, which is conducive to uniform seedlings, especially in low temperature, drought or poor seed quality, the effect is better, and the seeds can mature and be put on the market as soon as possible.

The time for sowing peanuts is generally from late April to early May. The sowing time corresponding to the solar terms in each region is different. This depends on the local soil temperature. The germination time of peanut seeds needs to be a few days before sowing. The seeds need to be soaked for one to four hours to germinate.

Peanut germination technology

1. Indoor sand bed germination

Choose a place with higher terrain, select soil with fine river sand, then place dry fine sand in the germination bed, place the peanut seeds in the fine sand, stir them evenly, spread them flat on the germination bed after mixing, and finally cover the seeds with pure wet fine sand to keep them moist, then cover the surface of the sand bed with straw or plastic film to keep it moist and keep warm. Every 5 to 6 hours, remove the straw and plastic film for ventilation to prevent seed rot. The seeds will burst and show their white color in about a day. At this time, sieve the seeds in time and sow them as soon as possible.

2. Germination in outdoor soil pits

Dig a pit in an open space with low groundwater level and dry soil. The depth of the pit should be moderate. Then put the seeds in a well-ventilated, water-permeable container, and then spread a layer of straw or fine sand on the bottom of the pit. Put the container with seeds into the pit, and then cover the mouth of the container with straw thatch or quilt, and wait for the seeds to hatch and show their white skin. At this time, take the seeds out of the pit as soon as possible and sow them. This method has a fast germination speed, a high survival rate, and is quick and convenient.
