How to grow pumpkin for high yield

1. Seed treatment: Choose a high-yield pumpkin variety. Before planting, soak the seeds in warm water for 4-6 hours, then place the seeds in an environment of 26-30 degrees to germinate. When the radicle extends 2-3mm outside the seed coat, prepare for sowing.

2. Sowing: Choose land that has not been used to grow pumpkins within 2-3 years. When the surface temperature is stable at above 12-13℃, sow the seeds with a row spacing of 1.3-1.5m and a plant spacing of 40-50cm. After sowing, cover with a 2-3cm thick layer of soil.

3. Fertilization: When planting pumpkin, apply 2000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 10 kg of compound fertilizer, and 10 kg of potassium fertilizer per mu of land. When the pumpkin grows 1-2 young pumpkins, apply 1000-1500 kg of decomposed thin manure water per mu of land. After each pumpkin harvest, you can apply an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer.

4. Manual management: In the early stage of pumpkin growth, weeding and weeding should be carried out as soon as possible. The soil should be loosened and cultivated once every 5-7 days after transplanting. When the vines grow to about 1m and before the leaves and vines cover the ground, weeding and weeding should be carried out respectively. In addition, work such as vine pressing, pinching, pruning, and disease and pest control should be done well.
