Yellow radish planting method and time cultivation steps and technical points

The best time to plant carrots

Yellow radish greenhouse cultivation is generally done from January to February, and harvesting begins in April. For open-field cultivation with mulch covering, it can be sown from March to April, and harvested from May to early June. For yellow radish cultivated in small greenhouses with mulch covering, the sowing period can be advanced to March, and harvested in mid-to-late May.

Yellow radish planting methods and key points

1. Seed soaking and germination

In the afternoon before sowing yellow radish, soak the seeds in warm water for about a day, take them out and dry them, mix them with fine sand and then broadcast or sow them in rows. In order to make the seeds evenly sown, you can add more sand.

2. Planting

Yellow radish is planted by direct seeding. After sowing, a two-centimeter layer of fine soil is covered. The seedlings emerge very quickly. To prevent the plants from growing too tall, thinning should be carried out when the first true leaf unfolds. Select the strong seedlings and pull out the rest.

Key points for yellow radish management

After sowing yellow radish, if the weather is dry and there is no rain, be sure to water it once on the day of sowing. If there is insufficient water, the yellow radish will become rough in texture. If there is too much water, it will easily grow tall. During the seedling stage, water in small amounts and multiple times to promote rooting, which is beneficial for growth and development.
