1. Basic characteristics

1. Gardenia. Its plants are generally short, about 1.2 meters in height, with gray stems and green twigs. Its leaves grow symmetrically, with a petiole length of 5-14 cm, a slightly pointed tip, and a shiny surface. Its flowers are white, large and fragrant, with six petals and short pedicels. Its fruit is oblong and contains many seeds. Gardenia blooms from May to June and lasts until August, and the fruits are ripe in October.

2. White toad. White toad is a variant of gardenia. Its plant is slightly taller and can grow up to 2 meters. Its leaves are leathery and oval in shape. When blooming, the flowers only appear at the top of the finger sleeves or in the leaf axils. The flowers are relatively large and have a very strong fragrance. The flowering period of white toad is from March to July, and the fruiting period is from May to February of the following year.

2. Growth Environment

1. Gardenia. It likes sunlight but can also tolerate shade. In a shady environment, the leaves will be very dark green, but the quality of flowering will be reduced. It prefers a relatively warm and humid climate, but can also withstand extreme cold and heat. It prefers fertile acidic soil, but can also grow in dry and poor soil, but it will age prematurely.

2. White toad. It likes to grow in broad-leaved forests, shady and wet places on the roadside, hillsides, bushes and river banks, and has good adaptability and survival abilities.

3. Distribution

1. Gardenia. Gardenia is native to China and is grown in most parts of the country, with a wide distribution in many provinces.

2. White toad. The white toad is mainly distributed in Shaanxi Province, Jiangsu Province, Anhui Province, Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Jiangxi Province and other provinces in my country. It can also be seen in the Himalayas and Japan.
