How long does it take for succulent cuttings to take root and sprout? When is the survival rate of cuttings high?

Rooting time of succulent cuttings

Succulent cuttings can be done in three seasons: spring, summer and autumn. If the indoor temperature is high in winter, cuttings can also be done. When doing cuttings, they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight or on rainy days. Try to choose sunny and ventilated weather for cuttings.

After one to two weeks of cuttings, the leaves will grow roots, but the temperature must be at least above 15℃. Too low or too high a temperature will affect its normal rooting. At this time, you can cover it with a film during the day and cover it at night for ventilation. It is recommended to water it every day. Don't worry that it will die due to too much water. It will almost never die.

How to root succulent cuttings

When taking cuttings of succulents, prepare permeable and breathable flower pots to avoid root rot during cuttings. Put a piece of non-woven cloth at the bottom of the flower pot to prevent the roots of the succulents from growing outside. At the same time, ensure the moisture of the soil and place it in a place with plenty of sunlight. It will take root in 6 to 10 days , but do not water it before rooting. After rooting, you can maintain it normally.

Succulent cutting method

1. Leaf cuttings

When propagating succulents by leaf cuttings, most people use the leaf cutting method. When doing leaf cuttings, you should choose healthy leaves that are not infected with pests and diseases, and then insert the leaves flatly and obliquely, and place them in an environment with weak sunlight for maintenance.

2. Head cuttings

When propagating succulents by cuttings, you can use cuttings from the cut off heads and select from healthy succulents, but the tools used must be disinfected in advance. After cutting off the heads, place them in a ventilated place to dry the wounds, apply rooting powder, and then insert them into the soil. Pay attention to more ventilation.
