Can the jade tree be transplanted in winter?

When transplanting jade plants, you must first pay attention to the choice of time. It cannot be done in winter. The temperature in winter is too low and the plants almost stop growing. Transplanting at this time can easily lead to plant death. It is recommended to do it in spring or autumn when the climate is suitable, which can reduce plant damage and allow the plants to resume growth as soon as possible.

Winter transplanting method of Yushu

1. Prune the roots

You can take the jade plant out of its original pot, and then prune it, cutting off the old, weak, and sick roots to ensure the growth of the plant. In order to make the jade plant easier to remove from the pot, you can water it every day a week in advance, to avoid damage to the plant due to excessive drying of the soil.

2. Disinfection

After pruning the roots of jade plant, it is necessary to disinfect it. The knives used must be disinfected first and kept dry. The wounds must be disinfected after pruning to prevent the plant from being infected by bacteria. After pruning, place it in a well-ventilated and cool place. After the wounds are completely dry, it can be planted in new potting soil.

Precautions for transplanting jade tree

After transplanting jade plant, maintenance and management should be strengthened to help it better adapt to the new environment. During this period, it should avoid sunlight and be kept in a semi-shaded and ventilated environment. At the same time, the soil should be kept slightly moist. Under normal circumstances, the plant will be able to resume growth in about 10 days.
