How to propagate medallion

Seed propagation of medal flower

Seed propagation is a relatively common propagation method for medallion flowers. Medall flowers can be sown in spring or autumn. When propagating the medal flower through sowing, you should pay attention to the following two points: first, cover it with a layer of soil, and second, keep it moist.

The sowing and propagation of medallion flower takes several months from sowing to final flowering. When sowing, the harvested seeds need to be germinated, and the paper towel germination method is very simple. Sow the germinated medallion seeds into the seedbed by broadcasting. After sowing the seeds, cover them with a layer of fine soil. After sowing, do daily maintenance work and keep the temperature between 18℃ and 21℃. Generally, seedlings will emerge in 3 days. When the seedlings grow a pair of leaves, they can be transplanted. After transplanting, the seedlings continue to grow, control the temperature and moisture, ensure sufficient sunlight, maintain ventilation, and plant them after the frost.

Propagation of Medal Flower by Division

Medal flower can be propagated by division. In spring, when the plant begins to sprout and before the stems and leaves of the medal flower begin to grow, dig the mother plant of the medal flower out of the ground. If it is potted, remove the soil and pot. Use a knife to cut the medallion plant from the roots and divide it into several small plants, each with buds and roots, which can be planted separately.

Cutting propagation of medal flower

Medal flower can be propagated by cuttings throughout the year if conditions permit. For open-field cultivation, cuttings should be carried out in spring and autumn. Use the small buds on the Medal Flower plant as cuttings, leaving only 2 leaves. Insert the cuttings into the sand bed, keep the temperature at 20-25℃ and the humidity at a high level, and it will take root in more than 20 days. Treating the cuttings with rooting powder before grafting can speed up rooting. When the medal peanuts have roots, they can be transplanted and planted.
