Can the double-line arrowroot be hydroponically cultivated?

Double-line arrowroot can be cultivated hydroponically.

What is needed for two-line arrowroot hydroponics

The container can be a plastic pot, a ceramic pot, or a glass pot.

Choose plants that are growing healthily, without dead or yellow leaves, with shiny, brightly colored leaves, and free from diseases and insect pests.

The nutrient solution used for hydroponics can be a special nutrient solution for foliage plants or a compound flower fertilizer, which can be used after diluting with water.

How to hydroponically cultivate double-line arrowroot

Before hydroponics, you need to wash the roots of the double-line arrowroot first, soak the plant in water close to the ambient temperature, with the water reaching about one-half or two-thirds of the root system. After the potting soil loosens and falls off, replace it with clean water and gently wash away the fine soil stuck to the roots.

Then remove the dead leaves on the plant, cut off the old or rotten roots, and soak it in a 1% potassium permanganate solution for one hour. This will not only disinfect and kill bacteria, but also promote the early growth of new roots in the plant.

After taking it out, rinse it with clean water, then plant it in a container, add clean water and allow 1/3-1/2 of the roots to be exposed above the water surface.

Management of two-line arrowroot after hydroponics

The leaves of the double-line arrowroot may curl in the early stage of hydroponics. The container should be placed in a ventilated and cool place, and the leaves should be sprayed with water appropriately.

Change the water every 1-2 days, and new roots will grow after about 10 days.

When the plant adapts to the hydroponic environment and the leaves no longer curl, you can add nutrient solution for maintenance. The nutrient solution should be diluted 3-5 times for the first watering, and the nutrient solution should be replaced every three to four weeks. At other times, you only need to add water.

During the maintenance process, if the roots of the double-line arrowroot are found to be rotten, they need to be cut off in time and the roots should be rinsed with water to prevent the growth of pathogens.
