How to deal with crabapple after flowering

Begonia post-flowering treatment

1. Pruning

Begonias need to be pruned after their flowering period. All the dead flowers, diseased and insect-infested branches, thin branches, and crossed branches of the plant should be cut off in time to reduce nutrient consumption and extend the flowering period of the plant.

2. Watering

Begonias like humidity, and the soil in the pot should be kept slightly moist during the flowering period. Water more when the temperature is high, but avoid rain to prevent root rot.

How to grow crabapple

There are many varieties of begonias, among which the four-season begonia can bloom all year round. The flowering period of the plant is from March to October, and it can bloom 3-4 times a year, with high ornamental value.

1. Fertilization

After the crabapple blooms, you can add phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. During the peak growth period, you can apply thin cake fertilizer water once every 15 days or so. During the bud formation period, you should also apply quick-acting phosphorus fertilizer, which can help the plant bloom better.

2. Light temperature

Begonia likes warmth, and the most suitable growth temperature for the plant is 18-20℃. It is best to provide it with a warm, humid environment with scattered light. In a high temperature environment, measures such as shading and spraying water should also be taken.

3. Moisture

Begonias have high requirements for water, so watering should be done when the soil is dry and watered when the soil is wet. Never let the soil in the pot be waterlogged, otherwise it will cause root rot and affect the growth and flowering of the plant.
