How to Plant Hibiscus Seeds

Container selection

As we mentioned above, it is a shrub, so it can grow very tall. If you choose a very small container, it may be inconvenient later. Therefore, the size of the container is the first thing we need to consider. Secondly, special attention should be paid to the drainage of the container.

Choice of substrate

For this plant, its soil requirements are not particularly strict. However, soil quality still has a certain impact on sowing. Therefore, it is best to choose sandy soil that is rich in humus and has good drainage for sowing. In addition, in order to increase the chance of germination, we can also disinfect it before sowing.

Seed selection and processing

Select seeds that are large and disease-free. In addition, we still need to do some simple processing on it. Because it is very hard, it needs to be soaked in substances such as sulfuric acid. It doesn't take too long, five to ten minutes is enough.

Time Selection

Generally, we sow the seeds collected in the autumn of the previous year in the spring of the second year.

Sowing and related management

First, place some substrate into a container. Next, mix the seeds evenly with fine sand and sprinkle it into the container. After spreading, cover with a layer of fine soil.

Then there are the subsequent management measures. The first thing to talk about is of course the temperature. It should be kept between 25 and 30 degrees, but not too high, not exceeding 35 degrees. Then there is water, keep the soil moist. Wait about twenty-five to thirty days and it will sprout.
