When and how to repot jade plants

Jade tree repotting time

It is recommended to replace the potting soil of Jade Plant in spring and autumn every year because the temperature in these two seasons is suitable. Repotting at this time can not only greatly reduce root damage, but also ensure a high survival rate. Jade Plant can also quickly sprout new roots and resume growth quickly.

Jade tree repotting method and steps

1. Depotting : It is recommended to cut off water three days before depotting. When depotting, first use a small shovel to draw a circle along the inner wall of the pot, or tap the outer wall of the pot, which can make the potting soil easier to separate. Then turn the pot upside down, hold the rhizome, and take it out carefully.

2. Prune the roots : first dig out the camellia, shake off some of the soil around the roots to expose most of the plant's roots, and then cut off the dead and rotten roots.

3. Prepare the potting soil : Prepare a larger flowerpot with good air permeability. Choose new soil that is soft, fertile and well-drained, and then mix the new soil and old soil thoroughly.

4. Plant in a pot : Place the jade plant in the middle of the prepared soil, fill it with soil after the roots are expanded, compact the soil lightly, water the soil to help it take root, and finally place it in a cool place.

Maintenance of Jade Tree after Repotting

After repotting the jade plant, it must be placed in a cool, ventilated environment, away from direct sunlight. If the maintenance environment is suitable, it will resume growth in about a week. Then gradually move it to a place with sufficient light and water it when the soil is dry.
