How to grow goldfish flowers and how to grow them

How to grow goldfish in a flower pot

Goldfish flowers prefer a negative environment with high temperature and high humidity. If placed in the sun for a long time, it will cause leaves to fall. The suitable growth temperature of the flower is between 18-22 degrees. Avoid low temperature. If the temperature is below 10 degrees for two consecutive days, the leaves will begin to turn yellow and dry. Goldfish flowers can easily burst the pot, which takes about five months.

1. Adequate lighting

In order to make the goldfish flower bloom out of the pot, sufficient light needs to be provided. It is a sun-loving plant and can tolerate partial shade. If it is placed in a dark environment for a long time, it will not be conducive to the formation of flower buds and will inhibit its flowering. During the maintenance period, except for proper shading in summer to prevent it from being burned, it can be given sufficient sunlight at other times.

2. Adequate fertilizer

If you want the goldfish flower to grow out of the pot, you must provide sufficient fertilizer. It is a fertilizer-loving plant and fertilizer is indispensable during its growth period. When preparing the soil, you can mix in some decomposed organic fertilizer or slow-release compound fertilizer. During the growing period, you can apply thin liquid fertilizer once every 15 days.

3. Ensure moisture

Goldfish flowers like a humid environment. The potting soil should be kept moist and the surrounding environment should be humid enough. If the potting soil is dry, or water accumulates in the potting soil for a long time, the roots will be injured and flowering will be affected.

4. Timely pruning

The branches of goldfish flowers take a relatively long time to grow, so they should be pruned in time. Generally, 2-3 layers of leaves are retained on each branch. The upper part should be cut off, and the leaf buds retained below will sprout more branches. After flowering, the effect of the pot overflowing will be achieved.

Precautions for goldfish flower care

After the goldfish flower blooms, it is necessary to promptly prune weak and overgrown branches to reduce nutrient consumption. Before winter, the withered flower stems should be cut off and the soil should be kept dry to allow new branches to grow better in the spring of the following year.
