Is growing potatoes profitable? The cost and profit of growing potatoes

Is growing potatoes profitable?

Potatoes are a vegetable with great market demand. The demand and export volume are obviously increasing year by year, but the storage cost is higher. As long as the maintenance conditions are suitable, it is relatively easy to make money.

Profits and benefits of growing potatoes

The current profit from potato cultivation is quite considerable, with the market price being around 0.6-1.2 yuan per catty. The planting cost per mu is about 2,000 yuan, so after deducting the cost, the net profit per mu can reach about 3,000 yuan. If planted on a large scale, the benefits are still very good.

Potato high-yield cultivation techniques

1. Choose good varieties

If you want to get a high yield of potatoes, you need to choose high-yield, high-quality, storable and disease-resistant varieties for planting.

2. Select the site and apply fertilizer

Potatoes should be planted in fertile, flat areas with convenient irrigation and drainage. Before planting, the soil should be plowed more than 30 cm deep and an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer should be added as base fertilizer.

3. Sowing

Potatoes are usually planted in pieces. They should be placed in the sun for 2-3 days before planting, and then planted when the sprouts grow to about 3 cm.
