Mulberry planting conditions and areas suitable for growing

Mulberry planting conditions

Mulberries have a strong adaptability to the environment, but there are still some necessary requirements when planting them. If you want to increase the yield, you must choose to plant them in sandy soil with sufficient sunlight, fertile soil, good permeability and drainage. Since mulberries require a lot of light to grow, it is best to plant them in the winter and spring each year.

Mulberry growing environment

Mulberries are suitable for growing in places with good drainage, flat ground, sufficient sunlight and ventilation. The suitable growth temperature is between 28-30 degrees. The lowest temperature in winter is above minus 20 degrees Celsius. The annual average temperature is around 13 to 15 degrees Celsius. The annual precipitation is around 600 to 1000 mm. Adequate light conditions must also be provided.

Mulberry planting method

1. Planting method

Mulberries are suitable for sowing in early spring from February to March. First, break up the soil thoroughly and water it sufficiently. Then, sow mulberry seeds along the mulberry rows, with a sowing amount of 2 to 3 taels per mu. Cover them with mud powder and then cover with straw. Water them once. Soybeans, peanuts, and vegetables can be planted between the rows. Interplanting crops can be done at the same time as sowing or in advance. Basically, it should be completed before May.

2. Notes

After mulberries are sown and before seedlings grow, water them frequently to keep the soil moist. Weeds and insects must be removed in time, and fertilizers should be applied in appropriate amounts to meet the growth needs of the plants. This will speed up growth. After the interplanted crops are harvested, enough strong plants should be left, and the excess seedlings can be dug up and sold, and then winter fertilizer can be applied again.
