Where is the best place to grow Maca?

Maca Planting Conditions

1. Temperature: Maca requires a relatively large temperature difference when growing, which is more conducive to its growth. Therefore, when planting, it is necessary to overcome the relatively harsh climate.

2. Altitude: Maca generally grows in an environment above 3,000 meters above sea level. Due to this environment, its yield is relatively low, and people who grow in the plains need to overcome altitude sickness.

3. Soil: Maca is more suitable for growing in sandy soil with good drainage, preferably slightly acidic soil, so that the quality of the grown products will be better.

Maca's growing environment

When Maca is growing, there needs to be a large temperature difference between day and night, preferably above 30 degrees, and there must be sufficient rainfall, and there must be freshwater lakes around. There must also be sufficient nutrients during the maintenance period. It has a strong ability to absorb nutrients from the soil. Usually, the land needs to rest for 7 years after each harvest.

Maca planting method

1. Land fertilization: Maca has high requirements for the growing environment, so after selecting the site according to its planting conditions, it is necessary to prepare the land in time, and some farmyard manure needs to be applied before turning the soil.

2. Seedling management: When planting maca, the spacing between seedlings needs to be kept at about 20 cm, and there must be sufficient water at normal times, otherwise it will affect the survival rate of the seedlings.

3. Fertilization management: Maca seedlings will grow rapidly after survival, so timely fertilization is needed at this time. Generally, organic compound fertilizer is used, and farmyard manure can also be used.
