1. How many years can you live?Okra is an annual plant and its life span is less than a year. Moreover, the plant is very afraid of cold. Its growth will slow down if the temperature drops below 17℃, and it may be frostbitten if the temperature continues to drop. Generally speaking, it takes 50-55 days from sowing to flowering, and about 120 days from flowering to harvesting, so the harvesting is basically completed in about half a year. 2. Planting Method1. Prepare potting soil: Before planting okra, you need to prepare the flower pots and potting soil. Ceramic pots are generally used for flower pots, which have good air permeability and should be of moderate size. The potting soil is mostly loose sandy loam. If you don’t have it, you can make it yourself by mixing garden soil and coarse sand together. The proportion of sand should not be too large. In order to make it grow quickly, you can add an appropriate amount of basal fertilizer. 2. Soak the seeds to germinate: In order to make okra grow better, you can soak the seeds to germinate first. Soak the seeds in water, take them out after 12 hours, wrap them with wet cloth, and place them in an environment with a temperature of 25-30℃. They will germinate quickly. When the germination rate exceeds 60%, you can start sowing. 3. Sowing: Place some broken tiles at the bottom of the flowerpot, or you can use a large-particle substrate to increase its drainage. After that, you can fill the soil, usually to about 80%. Dig a small hole in the middle of the potting soil and plant the seeds in it. You can plant a few more seeds and cover them with a 2 cm thick layer of soil. 4. Subsequent maintenance: After sowing, apply appropriate amount of water to keep the soil moist. After the seedlings grow out, thin them out according to their growth conditions, remove the weak seedlings and keep the strong plants. During its growing period, it is necessary to fertilize it regularly to provide it with nutrients, and also ensure that it receives sufficient sunlight. |
