Wisteria planting time and method

Wisteria planting time and method

Wisteria planting time

Wisteria can be planted by sowing. The planting time is chosen in spring every year, usually from March to April. The temperature is suitable at this time, which is a good period for seed germination and growth. It can germinate faster after sowing.

Wisteria Planting Methods

1. Processing seeds

Wisteria seeds can be harvested in November every year and planted around March of the following year. Before sowing, the wisteria seeds need to be processed. First, soak them in hot water, and when the water temperature drops to 30 degrees, take out the seeds, wash them with cold water, and then pile the seeds together. After 24 hours, they can be sown.

2. Sowing method

Wisteria is adaptable to a wide range of soils. Generally, ordinary soil with good drainage properties will do. If the soil is deep and the planting site has sufficient light, wisteria can grow vigorously. After preparing the soil, you can renovate it, then sow the seeds and cover them with a thin layer of soil.

Things to note when planting wisteria

After sowing wisteria, pay attention to watering it regularly, meet its sunlight needs, apply top dressing, and prune it in time later. It is a vine plant that can climb, so after the seeds germinate, you can build a support to induce the wisteria to climb later.
