The reason why the leaves of zebra evergreen turn yellow

The reason why the leaves of zebra evergreen turn yellow

1. Metabolism

If the lower part of the leaves turns yellow, it may be due to normal metabolism, which causes the lower part of the leaves to age and turn yellow. There is no need to worry too much about this situation, as it is a normal phenomenon. Just trim off the yellow leaves and broken leaves in time, which can also reduce nutrient consumption.

2. Too much light

Zebra Dieffenbachia prefers a semi-shady environment and cannot withstand strong light. If it is exposed to direct light, the leaves will have burnt edges or even turn yellow overall. In different seasons, we should pay attention to the control of light. In summer, the shade should be more than 60%. In winter, the light intensity is low, so the shade should be at least 40%.

3. Improper water and fertilizer

Applying water and fertilizer is also a very important factor in growth. If too little water and fertilizer is applied, it will affect absorption, resulting in weak growth and yellowing of leaves. If too much water and fertilizer are applied, the roots will find it difficult to absorb and the leaves will turn yellow. It needs to be applied reasonably and the dosage should be adjusted in time according to the situation.

4. The temperature is too low

The suitable growth temperature for zebra dieffenbachia is about 15-18 degrees Celsius. When the temperature is lower than 5 degrees Celsius, the leaves will turn yellow. In winter, move it indoors in time, facing the sun, and keep the temperature above 10℃.
