Cherry tomato planting time

It is necessary to choose the right time to plant cherry tomatoes, which will be conducive to its growth. Generally, they are planted in January and February, and then transplanted in March in spring. If the temperature is suitable, they can also be planted in October and November in autumn, and transplanted in early or mid-year of the following year.

1. Germination treatment

The seeds can be sterilized before sowing. You can soak the seeds in potassium permanganate solution for about 10 minutes, take them out, clean them, wrap them with wet cloth and place them in a warm room at 28℃ for germination. When white sprouts emerge from the seeds, you can sow them.

2. Seedbed treatment

Cherry tomatoes are adaptable to a wide range of soils and can be planted in general planting areas, but it is best to provide loose and breathable soil, add enough decomposed manure solution to the soil and mix it to improve the soil fertility, and then spray an appropriate amount of carbendazim and superphosphate.

3. Planting

Insert the white seedlings into the soil, with a spacing of about 35 to 40 centimeters, cover them with wet grass, and water them thoroughly once. Water them frequently during the growth stage to keep the soil moist. Fertilizers should mainly be nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Watering needs to be controlled during the fruiting period, and spraying potassium fertilizer on the leaves can facilitate fruit growth.

Things to note when planting cherry tomatoes

During the growth process of cherry tomatoes, the suitable temperature is about 20-28 degrees. The temperature should not be lower than 15 degrees, otherwise the growth rate of cherry tomatoes will slow down. At the same time, the temperature should not exceed 35 degrees, because too high temperature will cause the seedlings to burn.
