Bougainvillea is native to Brazil in South America and is mostly grown in southern my country. It has many varieties and various shapes. It is mostly distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and other places. Of course, Bougainvillea is also grown in the north, but it is mostly used as an indoor ornamental plant.

Bougainvillea likes to grow in a warm and humid climate. If the air is too dry, it will enter a dormant period. In daily maintenance, it needs to be adequately illuminated, but watered in moderation, and do not allow water to accumulate in the pot.

1. Temperature

  The growth temperature of Bougainvillea is around 15-20 degrees. It likes a mild and humid environment and can survive under high temperature conditions, but it is not cold-resistant. The temperature in winter cannot be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise it is easy to freeze and fall leaves.

2. Lighting

Bougainvillea flowers like light and are positive flowers. Insufficient light during the growth process will cause the plant to grow slowly and affect its flowering time. Except for newly planted seedlings, it is best to place others in a cool place first.

3. Soil

Bougainvillea grows in loose, fertile acidic soil. It is best not to over-water it. When potted, you can use leaf mold, peat soil, sandy soil, garden soil mixed with a small amount of cake residue to make the culture soil.
