How to plant longan seeds in pots

Cleaning longan seeds

First of all, after taking out the longan core, wash it clean and be careful not to leave any residue on it.

The cleaned longan seeds can be put into a bowl and added with water, preferably boiled water, as tap water is more likely to deteriorate. It usually takes about 1 week to soak in water.

Note that it is best to change the water every day to ensure water quality. Wait for the longan pit to crack, then you can take it out and plant it.

If you find that the seeds have not cracked after you have soaked them for a long time, it may be that the time is not enough, or the seeds may be bad. Replace them with fresher seeds.

Making a small potted plant with longan

Once the longan seeds crack, you can make them into potted plants.

Choose a breathable flowerpot and soil. After frying, plant the longan seeds in the flowerpot. Note that the cracked part should face upwards and the density should be reasonable.

After planting the longan seeds, please note that if the temperature is low, you can cover them with plastic wrap to keep them warm, but if the temperature is high, this is not necessary. This is beneficial for seed germination.

Maintenance of longan potted plants

Place the longan potted plant in a suitable location. Usually, the longan potted plant covered with soil or plastic wrap can be placed in the sun. If it is not covered with anything, it is usually maintained under scattered light.
