Generally, kiwi trees like warm and humid places and fertile and loose soil, but kiwis should not be planted in places with poor drainage.

Kiwi fruit generally grows on kiwi trees. Although it is said to grow on kiwi trees, it actually grows on its vines. Kiwi fruit is more suitable for growing on the edge of a hillside or in bushes. Some can also be cultivated in gardens. Its growing environment is distributed in provinces and regions south of the Yangtze River.

The location of the garden must be convenient for transportation and have abundant water areas, but the garden cannot be built on a windy vent. When building a garden on a mountain, you should choose a slope, with the early and late sunny slopes having better environments, and the slope should not exceed about 30 degrees.

When the annual average temperature is above 11℃, the temperature for normal growth of kiwifruit is generally 8℃. When the daily average temperature is higher than 8℃, kiwifruit begins to sprout and grow; if the average temperature is lower than 8℃, the growth of kiwifruit will be affected.

The requirements of kiwifruit for light vary with the growth period. Seedlings prefer cool places, while adult plants prefer sunny places.
