What vegetables are suitable for growing in shady places?

When planting vegetables in the shade, you must try to choose varieties with better shade tolerance. If the vegetables like light, it is best not to plant them in the shade. Otherwise, during the growing period, they will not receive sunlight for a long time, which will affect their growth. Lettuce, leek, water spinach, asparagus, toon, spinach, rapeseed, wood ear vegetable, etc. can be planted in the shade.

1. Rapeseed

Rapeseed prefers to grow in low temperature areas and is suitable for relatively warm environments. It does not require much light, so when planting it, it can be grown in a shady place and maintained in a low temperature environment, which is more beneficial for its growth.

2. Water spinach

The origin of water spinach is in the southern region. It prefers a warm and humid growing environment, is not frost-resistant, and does not require much light, so it is more suitable for maintenance in the shade.

3. Lettuce

Lettuce is a cold-resistant vegetable that prefers cool climates and is not resistant to high temperatures. When growing, the temperature needs to be kept between 15-20 degrees. If the temperature is higher than 30 degrees, it will not germinate, so it is suitable for maintenance in the shade.

4. Leek

Chives have strong adaptability and prefer a cool growing environment. They are relatively cold-resistant and heat-resistant, while their underground parts are relatively resistant to low temperatures and do not require very much light, so they are suitable for growing in shady areas.

5. Spinach

Spinach is a cold-resistant vegetable, and its seeds can germinate at 4 degrees. Although it is a long-day plant, it has no requirements for the intensity of light, so it can be grown in the shade.
