How to save the seeds of string peppers? How to deal with the seeds of string peppers so that they can be planted

How to save pepper seeds

Bell pepper is a common vegetable. Its seeds grow inside the fruit. The fruit is shaped like a long finger and the seeds grow inside it. You can harvest the seeds after waiting for it to mature naturally.

The seeds of string peppers usually mature around September and October. You should choose healthy, fresh and mature string peppers to peel the seeds, clean the flesh on the surface, and then dry them in the sun for storage. The shelf life is about two years.

Pepper seed propagation

Bell peppers can be propagated by seeds. The best time to sow them is from February to March each year, but the specific time depends on the local climate. It is best to sow them in clear weather. They will germinate 15 days after planting and will bloom in about two months.

How to plant pepper seeds

1. Seed treatment

Choose pepper seeds with full grains for planting, then sterilize the seeds in a trisodium phosphate solution, rinse them thoroughly, expose them to the sun for two days, and then soak them in warm water at 50°C to germinate.

2. Sowing

Bell peppers prefer loose and fertile soil. You can use sandy soil and base fertilizer to prepare it, then sow the seeds evenly on the surface of the soil and cover it with a thin layer of soil. In the later stage, ensure that the moisture content of the soil is around 60%.
