How to keep seeds of air pineapple

Air plants are also called air flowers, air grass, wood-handled pineapple, etc. Its seeds grow in its seed pods, but its seeds are not easy to obtain. After the seeds mature naturally, they need to be picked immediately and sown as soon as they are picked.

The fruits of air plants usually mature around September or October in autumn, but if you want to get the seeds of the plant, you must artificially pollinate it. Do not touch water after pollination. The seeds will be produced in about four months.

Air plant seed propagation

The air plant can be propagated by seeds, and the sowing time is not strict. It can be sown from March to November every year. If the maintenance environment is proper after sowing, the seeds will germinate in about 5 days and will bloom after a year.

1. Planting preparation

Before sowing, you need to prepare suitable soil for the air plants. You can use garden soil, river sand, or peat soil to prepare it. Then soak the seeds in warm water, place them in a cool place to dry, and then you can sow them.

2. Sowing

Air plants can be sown in holes. Place the seeds in the soil and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Then spray some water with a spray bottle. Keep the soil slightly moist and the environment warm in the later stage.
