Can roses be grown hydroponically?

Roses can be grown hydroponically, but not for a long time. However, short-term hydroponic rooting is possible, and when the roots of the hydroponic roses grow to about 3 cm, you should prepare to move them back to the soil for planting, otherwise the roses will not bloom due to malnutrition.

Rose hydroponic cultivation methods and key points

1. When growing roses in water, you should choose varieties that can reproduce. You should choose cuttings that are healthy and free of diseases and pests. Each node should be cut into a length of about ten centimeters. Leave three to four small nodes on each cut branch, and three to four leaves on the top.

2. Before hydroponics, cut off the bottom leaves of the rose to reduce water consumption and improve the survival rate of the rose. Then insert the branches directly into the water. The water level should be about 1/3 of the container. Remember to change the water frequently. Adding special nutrient solution when changing the water can promote root development.

Precautions for growing roses in water

1. Water change and maintenance:

When hydroponically cultivating roses, you need to change the water frequently. Change the water every three to four days before rooting. After rooting, you can reduce the frequency of water changes. If you observe that the water level should evaporate and decrease, you need to add water. Remember not to use tap water directly when changing the water. You can use overnight water or cooled boiled water to avoid water deterioration.

2. Fertilization and maintenance:

When changing the water, you can add some nutrient solution to the water to promote rooting, or you can put a rusty screw in the water to supplement the iron element. Be careful not to add too high a nutrient concentration, otherwise it will cause root burns.
