How to grow Osmanthus fragrans so that it blooms

Murraya flowering time

Osmanthus fragrans usually blooms around April to August every year, but sometimes the flowering time is delayed due to climatic reasons, and it will only bloom in June and July. In order to make it bloom better, it needs to provide sufficient sunlight and keep the soil moist.

Methods for cultivating and flowering Murraya paniculata

1. Light : When caring for Osmanthus fragrans, it needs sufficient sunlight, especially during its growing season. It needs to be placed in a place with sufficient light. When the light is strong in summer, shade measures need to be taken.

2. Temperature : Osmanthus fragrans prefers a warm growing environment. During maintenance, the temperature needs to be kept at around 25 degrees. It can withstand a high temperature environment of 35 degrees. It is not very cold-resistant, so the temperature in winter cannot be lower than 5 degrees.

3. Fertilizer and water : Osmanthus fragrans consumes a lot of water and nutrients during the growing and flowering periods, so it is necessary to water it in time to keep the soil moist. In addition, it needs to be fertilized every 15 days during the growing period, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied before and after the flowering period.

4. Pruning : Osmanthus fragrans needs to be properly pruned during the growing period. Some underdeveloped and overgrown branches and leaves should be removed. This can reduce the loss of nutrients and promote the growth of the plant. The remaining flowers also need to be pruned after the flowering period.
