Methods and steps for potting small hibiscus

Time to plant small hibiscus

It is suitable to plant small hibiscus in pots in spring or autumn, because the climate in these two seasons is pleasant and relatively warm, which allows the plant to adapt to the new pot and soil at a faster speed after being potted, thereby resuming growth.

Methods and steps for potting small hibiscus

Control water in advance: Before potting the hibiscus, you need to start controlling water about three days in advance. This will make it easier to take it out of the original pot and not easily damage its roots.

Remove from pot and prune: On the day of potting, dig the small hibiscus out of the original flower soil, then use scissors to cut off the bad roots that have black rot, then put it in a well-ventilated place, dry the cut ends, and treat the cut ends with disinfectant to prevent the wound from being infected with bacteria.

Replanting: Prepare some clean, soft flower soil as new culture soil, put it into the flowerpot, and then plant the small hibiscus bottom down in the new flowerpot. Then compact the soil surface with your hands and water it again to help the roots take root.

Things to note when planting small hibiscus

After potting, transfer the plant to a warm environment with soft sunlight. Reduce watering and stop fertilizing during the acclimatization period. After 7-10 days, it will be able to adapt to the new pot and can be maintained normally.
