How to grow star fruit

How to grow star fruit

The value of star fruit

Its fruit usually sells for a very high price because of its unique and rare taste. Foods made from it are rich in nutritional value, including glycerol, which contains various nutrients needed by the human body. Therefore, it is deeply loved by people and usually sells for a good price. Another value is its ornamental value. Because of its beautiful growth shape and special leaves and colors, many countries use it as an ornamental plant.

Planting method

The cultivation of star fruit requires the selection of good soil, which also has the characteristics of good drainage that most plants require. After planting the seeds, water and fertilize them appropriately every week until seedlings grow and then take good care of them. When the tree grows to the point where it is about to branch, cut off the excess branches and pay attention to disease and insect prevention. After the fruits are formed, they are covered with transparent paper bags, which can not only prevent the invasion of diseases and insects, but also allow the fruits to receive sufficient light.

Growth cycle

The growth cycle of Venus fruit is very long. It usually takes six or seven years for it to bear fruit after planting. This characteristic leads to its yield and planting quantity. It is not like other fruits that can be harvested every year, nor does it grow and mature evenly like other fruits. Its fruits do not have a uniform time to mature. Some of them mature early and can be picked in advance, while the rest still need some time to grow. Therefore, this fruit is easy to eat but difficult to grow. It is a rare good fruit.
