It is better to water succulents every few days

How often should I water my succulents?

Succulents can be watered every 4-5 days in summer, and every 5-7 days in spring and autumn. In winter, when the temperature is lower, you need to control watering, generally every 10-15 days. Do not cause water accumulation, otherwise the succulents will rot.

How to water succulent plants

1. According to the size of the plant

During the succulent seedling period, you can water it in small amounts multiple times, once a day, but not too much. However, for adult plants, you can water it once every 7 days or so, but the amount of water should be larger at a time. If it is an old stump, you can directly water it thoroughly, once or twice a month will be enough.

2. According to the state of the soil

This is also a good way to determine whether watering is needed. Due to various factors, the time it takes for the soil to dry out is also different. If you observe that the soil has become dry, you can water it. Be careful not to water it too much.

3. According to the change of seasons

The frequency of watering will naturally be different in different seasons. In spring and autumn, it is about once a week. If the ventilation is good, it can be watered once every three or four days. In summer, the plant will enter a dormant period, and generally water it once every 15-20 days. The temperature in winter is low, and it will also go dormant, and the frequency is about the same as in summer.

Precautions for watering succulent plants

Succulent plants cannot tolerate waterlogging environments, so be careful not to over-water them. Once water accumulates in the pot soil, the roots are prone to rot, affecting their growth. Also, do not water from the beginning. Try not to get the leaves wet. Water from the edge of the pot to allow the water to slowly penetrate. The water temperature and soil temperature should be consistent. In addition, do not water the newly potted plants in a hurry. Just wait for 3-5 days before moistening the soil.
