Wheat germination environmentWheat seeds can be planted for the second time, or you can choose to buy them in stores. If you want them to germinate, you need to provide a suitable growth environment. The germination temperature for winter varieties is between 8 and 16 degrees, the germination temperature for semi-winter varieties is between 5 and 14 degrees, and the germination temperature for spring varieties must reach above 3 degrees. The temperature cannot be higher than 25 degrees. Wheat seeds prefer a moist environment and need to be watered frequently after sowing to keep the soil moist, but no water accumulation should occur. When planting, sufficient farmyard manure can be applied to the soil as base fertilizer. Generally, stable manure, mild livestock manure and straw fermented fertilizer are most suitable. Wheat seeds have a wide adaptability to soil and are suitable for planting in loose, fertile, neutral acidic and alkaline soils with good fertilizer and water retention and good drainage. Sufficient light needs to be provided during the growth period, but they are not resistant to strong light and need to be shaded. Wheat germination processWheat is just a seed at first. It germinates and takes root under the right conditions, then grows small leaves, and then begins to grow taller. After a period of time, the plant will begin to produce wheat ears. When it absorbs enough nutrients, it will grow wheat ears, then bloom flowers and bear fruit. Direct sowing of wheat seedsWheat seeds can germinate when planted directly, but some seeds need to have a certain vitality and break the dormancy period if they want to germinate. Wheat seeds germinationWheat seeds can be primed to promote seed germination. The most commonly used agent for seed priming is PEG (polyethylene glycol). Wheat seeds are disinfected with 70% ethanol for 10 minutes. Seed priming is carried out at 28°C in the dark. The seeds are soaked in a PEG-6000 aqueous solution with an osmotic potential of -1.2MPa for 12 hours. Wheat sprout planting methodBefore planting wheat, the soil needs to be renovated and sufficient base fertilizer needs to be applied. The sowing density should be determined according to the variety, terrain and crop rotation. After sowing, the soil should be covered tightly and pressed down in time after sowing. The wheat will germinate soon. After that, sufficient water and nutrients should be provided, and sufficient light should be ensured so that it can grow healthily. |
