If you don't kill these little creatures quickly, they will chew all the flowers into pig heads overnight. You will regret it so much!

Scale insects

Harm: Scale insects are very stubborn. If you take it lightly, they will cling to your flowers like psoriasis. They will grow on succulents, sunflowers, Christmas cacti, spider plants, etc.!

Solution 1: Liquor

Take 10ml of 50-degree liquor, add 20ml of clean water, stir well and spray on the scale insects. You can spray 2-3 times a week. It is more effective than alcohol.

Solution 2: Cigarette butts

Add 100 ml of clean water to 10 cigarette butts and soak them for 1 day. Spray the water on the scale insects. This can kill the scale insects on 1-2 flowers. If you have many flowers at home, you will have to collect more cigarette butts.

Solution 3: White vinegar

You don’t need to add water to the white vinegar at home. Take a cotton swab or a large brush and dip it in it and brush it on the scale insects. They will die in about 2 hours. Then spray them with clean water to avoid irritating the flowers with white vinegar.

aphid

Hazards: Aphids reproduce quickly and can quickly eat the tender shoots of flowers and plants, affecting their normal growth and flowering. They will also attract ants, so they must be eliminated as soon as possible!

Solution 1: Alcohol, laundry detergent

Use a brush dipped in alcohol or detergent water to wipe the flower stems and leaves with insects. Do this in a cool place, otherwise it will dry out quickly and the effect will not be obvious.

Solution 2: Ladybug

Careful flower lovers can look for the natural enemy of aphids - the seven-spotted ladybug - outdoors. Catch two or three of them and place them near the aphids, and they will be eaten up quickly.

Solution 3: Garlic water

If aphids have just been eliminated, you can spray garlic water every 2 days. Crush 3-5 cloves of garlic, add a bowl of water and soak for 3-5 hours, then spray it on the flowers to prevent aphids and other pests.

Red Spider

Harm: Red spider mites lay eggs very quickly. If white silk (spider silk) appears on the leaves, it must be on the back of the leaves. They will also run into the stems and eat away the flowers!

Solution 1: Flour

Take a handful of flour, add 200ml of water and mix well, then use a brush to apply it on the front and back of the leaves where the insects are. Wait for 2-3 hours for the flour water to dry and the red spiders to suffocate to death. Then use clean water to rinse off the flour on the leaves.

Solution 2: Sulfur soap

Cut off a thumb-sized piece of sulfur soap, dissolve it in warm water, let it cool, put it in a small spray bottle, and spray it on the leaves with insects. The effect will be visible after 3-5 hours. It is best to rinse it with clean water afterwards.

Solution 3: Milk

You can use pure milk at home, whether it is expired or not, and spray it on the front and back of the flowers and leaves. After 2-3 hours, it will dry. The red spider will either die from drinking too much milk, be drowned by the milk, or suffocate to death. Finally, rinse the flowers with clean water.

Thrips

Hazard: Thrips are the most common and poisonous insects. They are very small and hide in curled leaves and spots, causing the leaves to dry and curl, the flowers to fall prematurely, and in severe cases the entire plant to die.

Solution 1: Wind oil essence

The leaves that have been infested with thrips cannot be restored. If the infestation is serious, cut them off immediately. Drop 3-5 drops of medicated oil on the soil surface of the flowerpot and cover it with a bag for 2-3 hours.

Solution 2: Fuyanjie

The disinfectant ingredients in Fuyanjie are more effective in killing thrips than insecticides. Dilute Fuyanjie with water in a ratio of 1:1 and spray it on the insected leaves. Spray 2-3 times a week to kill all thrips. It can also treat powdery mildew on flowers.

Solution 3: Hang yellow or blue sticky boards

Experiments have shown that thrips like to pounce on yellow and blue objects. Flower lovers who have many flowers at home can hang yellow and blue sticky boards among the flowers. They can not only catch thrips, but also small black flies and leaf-cutter bees.

<<:  Don’t throw away cigarette butts after smoking. Growing flowers can remove pollutants and kill mosquitoes. 99% of people don’t know this!

>>:  If succulent plants attract insects, kill them immediately. If you don’t care, your succulents will die in 3 days!
