How to make broad beans germinate quickly

Broad bean germination environmental requirements

When selecting broad bean seeds, you should choose varieties that are plump, strong, and resistant to diseases. You can buy them directly from a seed store.

In order for broad beans to germinate faster, a warm and humid environment is needed. The suitable germination temperature is 16 degrees, the maximum temperature is 25 to 35 degrees, and the minimum temperature is 3.8 degrees. The soil should be kept moist, but no water accumulation should occur. It is suitable for planting in slightly alkaline and fertile clay loam with a deep soil layer.

Broad bean germination process

After planting the broad beans, they will sprout in a few days and grow small green leaves. When these leaves grow up, they will be as tall as a bottle. The leaves will gradually increase in number, gradually increasing from two to four. If you want the broad beans to germinate quickly, you can peel off the hard outer skin.

Broad bean seeds direct planting

Choose soft, moist and well-drained soil to plant the seeds. Broad bean seeds can germinate if planted directly.

Broad bean seed germination

Choose strong and good quality broad beans, wash them with cold water, put them in a basin, add cold water and soak them for 12 to 24 hours, rinse them and change the water, after soaking for 48 hours, take them out and put them into a food bag, tie the bag tightly, put it on the table, turn it over through the bag at intervals to make the temperature uniform, and open the bag after about 12 hours.

At the same time, rinse the broad beans and food bags with clean water and provide an indoor temperature of 27-28 degrees. After about 3-4 days, the average length of the bean sprouts is generally about 0.5 to 1.1 cm.

Broad bean germination planting method

After the broad bean seeds germinate, they can be planted in the soil. Dig a small hole in the soil, put the seeds in the hole, then cover the surface with a thin layer of soil, and then lightly sprinkle a little water. Put the pot under the sun, water it once every two days, and apply fertilizer or nutrient water regularly.
