Pest and disease control of purple echinacea

Pest and disease control of purple echinacea

Root rot

This disease is relatively common and mainly attacks the roots, but we may not be able to detect it at this time. We can only discover the symptoms when the leaves turn yellow, so prevention of this disease is very important. This disease is mainly caused by too much water accumulating in the soil next to the roots. If planted indoors, be sure not to let water accumulate when watering. Once some water accumulates, it will cause the roots in the pot to rot.

If planted outdoors and the amount of water cannot be controlled, you must do a good job of drainage during rainy seasons. This can minimize the occurrence of this disease. Also, if the disease has already occurred, you must pull out the diseased plants in time, let the pathogens pass to other plants, and spray the other plants with appropriate pesticides.

Yellow leaf disease

As the name suggests, the disease is that the leaves gradually turn yellow and even curl, and the plant will gradually become shorter. If not handled in time, the flowers that bloom will be dull in color or even deformed, making it completely impossible to appreciate them. However, the disease usually shows symptoms in the second year of infection, so we must seize the time to prevent and control it. You can spray carbendazim two or three times a week. If diseased plants are found, they must be pulled out in time and then buried deeply or burned to prevent the spread of the disease.

cabbage caterpillar

This type of insect is also relatively common. Once a few are found, they can be removed directly. However, if they appear in large numbers, you can spray them with cypermethrin emulsifiable concentrate once a week, for a total of 2-3 times.
