How to grow flower stalks for Phalaenopsis

How to grow flower stalks for Phalaenopsis

1. Temperature range

Temperature is very important during its growth. It likes a high temperature environment, so the lowest temperature during its growth must be guaranteed to be above 15°C. In the cold season, special attention should be paid to temperature changes. It must not be in a cold environment, otherwise it will not only be difficult to grow flower stalks, but the growth will also be affected.

2. Suitable for sunlight

It is a shade-loving plant, and the amount of sunlight supplemented should not be too much or too little. It only needs to be exposed to partial sunlight, especially before and after flowering. Appropriate sunlight supplementation can promote the growth of flower stalks, and the flowers will be more colorful, but it cannot be exposed to direct sunlight.

3. Nutritional supplement

The emergence of flower stalks requires the application of nutrients. Attention should be paid to fertilizing throughout the year to supply enough nutrients, especially in the growth season of flower stalks. An appropriate amount of phosphorus should be added, and the content should not be too concentrated. Fertilization should be done about once every 15-20 days, and the time for fertilization can be chosen in the afternoon.

4. Pay attention to pruning

Because a large amount of nutrients will be consumed during the growth process, when yellow or rotten leaves appear, pay attention to pruning and cut them off in time. After the flowers fade, no petal withers should be left, all of them must be removed.
