Selection and preparation of aloe vera flower soil

Aloe Vera soil requirements

Aloe vera prefers dry neutral soil. When cultivating, it should be made with a mixture of sandy soil with good drainage and high nutrient content, leaf mold, perlite, peat soil and fine sand in a ratio of 3:1:4:2. If the soil has poor drainage and air permeability, it will hinder root breathing and be unfavorable for the growth of aloe vera.

Aloe Vera Flower Soil Preparation Method

1. The potting soil suitable for the growth of aloe vera has the functions of fertilizer retention, water conservation, drainage, ventilation, etc. The materials commonly used to prepare the potting soil are field soil, garden soil, humus, river sand or media ash.

2. The configuration method of aloe flower soil is 4:4:2 of garden mud, humus, river sand or media ash respectively. When making it, it can be appropriately changed according to the source of local materials without affecting the fertilizer, water and air in the basin.

Aloe vera flower soil maintenance

1. If there are insects in the soil of aloe vera flowers, you can remove the topsoil layer 5-7 cm thick, mainly removing the insects and insect eggs in the topsoil in large quantities. After removing the topsoil, fill it with new soil, and finally sprinkle quicklime on the topsoil.

2. The soil of aloe vera should be replaced once a year, otherwise the growth of the plant will be affected. Moreover, if the nutrients needed for plant growth in the soil are insufficient, it will also be detrimental to the growth of the plant.

3. Wood ash can be placed directly on the aloe vera soil to supplement potassium for flowers. It is an excellent potassium fertilizer, but the amount must be controlled. Wood ash is alkaline and will change the pH of the soil. Too much can easily cause yellow leaves, poor growth and other phenomena.

4. Aloe vera needs enough nutrients to support its growth during the growth process. You can use eggshells. Eggshells contain a lot of phosphorus, potassium, calcium and other substances, which are all needed by aloe vera, especially potassium, which helps the growth of branches and leaves and achieves the effect of lush branches and leaves.
